Dr. Shah brings a unique perspective to the Collectors MD community—combining extensive medical expertise with his personal passion for collecting.
Dr. Shah joins Collectors MD’s growing referral and support network, which connects collectors with trusted professionals who understand the behavioral, financial, and emotional challenges tied to the hobby. With a clinical background spanning Endeavor Health/Northwest Community Hospital, Northwestern Medicine, and the University of Chicago Hospital system, Dr. Shah has built a reputation for compassionate, hands-on care, and an ability to guide patients through both acute and long-term challenges.
“I’ve seen how stress, anxiety, and compulsive habits can manifest in all areas of life—including hobbies like collecting,” said Dr. Shah. “Collectors MD is creating a space where people can have honest conversations, find community, and get guidance before things spiral. I’m excited to play a small role in that movement.”
Dr. Shah recently joined founder Alyx Effron on The Collector’s Compass podcast for a candid discussion about health, stress management, and how collectors can take proactive steps to engage with the hobby more intentionally.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Shah is now offering guidance and support sessions for collectors who want to better understand the psychological and physical toll of compulsive behaviors.
