If you do not agree with these Terms, please discontinue use of the website.

1. About Collectors MD

Collectors MD is an education, advocacy, and advisory organization dedicated to addressing compulsive collecting, problematic spending, and gambling-adjacent behaviors within the modern collectibles ecosystem.

Our activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Educational content, awareness campaigns, and prevention initiatives.
  • Peer-support meetings and community engagement.
  • Responsible collecting and harm-reduction resources.
  • Podcasts, interviews, articles, and multimedia programming.
  • Strategic consulting, advisory services, and industry partnerships.
  • Research-informed educational frameworks and professional training.
  • Referrals and connections to independent behavioral health and recovery resources.

Our mission is to help individuals, families, businesses, and communities better understand collecting-related behaviors, recognize potential risks, and encourage informed, intentional participation.

Collect With Intention. Not Compulsion.

2. Educational & Informational Purposes

All information provided by Collectors MD, including articles, podcasts, educational materials, presentations, downloadable resources, and website content, is intended for general educational, informational, and awareness purposes.

Although our work addresses behavioral health, compulsive spending, gambling-related harm, and recovery, Collectors MD does not provide medical diagnoses, clinical treatment, psychotherapy, or individualized medical, legal, or financial advice through its general educational resources or peer-support programs.

Our content should not be considered a substitute for qualified professional guidance.

Individuals experiencing significant emotional, psychological, financial, or behavioral difficulties are encouraged to seek assistance from appropriately qualified professionals.

3. Peer-Support Meetings & Community Programs

Collectors MD facilitates peer-support meetings for individuals navigating challenges related to collecting, compulsive spending, gambling-adjacent behaviors, and other potentially harmful purchasing patterns.

Participation in these programs is voluntary.

By participating, individuals acknowledge that:

  • Peer-support meetings are not a substitute for professional mental health treatment, addiction treatment, or crisis intervention.
  • Participants may share personal experiences, opinions, and perspectives that do not necessarily represent the views of Collectors MD.
  • Participants are expected to treat others with dignity, compassion, and respect.
  • Members should respect the privacy of others and refrain from sharing identifying information or personal stories outside the group without permission.
  • Recording, photographing, or distributing meeting content without authorization is prohibited.
  • Collectors MD cannot guarantee that other participants will maintain confidentiality, although confidentiality is a fundamental expectation of the community.

Collectors MD reserves the right to establish participation guidelines and restrict or discontinue participation when reasonably necessary to protect the safety, privacy, and integrity of its programs.

Participation does not establish a therapist-patient, physician-patient, or other licensed professional treatment relationship with Collectors MD.

4. Responsible Collecting & Harm Reduction

Collectors MD recognizes that collecting can provide enjoyment, nostalgia, connection, creativity, community, and personal fulfillment.

We also recognize that certain purchasing environments and behavioral patterns may contribute to financial, emotional, or psychological harm for some individuals.

Our educational initiatives explore topics such as randomized purchasing experiences, variable rewards, scarcity, live commerce, auctions, pack openings, card breaking, and other gambling-adjacent mechanics.

Discussion of these activities does not imply that all collecting is gambling or that participation in these activities is inherently harmful.

Our approach emphasizes education, informed decision-making, personal accountability, harm reduction, and access to appropriate support.

Collecting-related experiences and risk factors vary by individual. No educational strategy, resource, or recommendation is guaranteed to prevent compulsive behavior, financial loss, or other adverse outcomes.

5. No Professional Or Therapeutic Relationship

Accessing Collectors MD’s website, contacting our organization, participating in community programs, or reviewing educational resources does not establish a clinical, therapeutic, fiduciary, or other regulated professional relationship.

Any consulting, advisory, training, or other professional services provided to businesses or organizations are governed by the terms of separately executed agreements, when applicable.

Nothing on this website creates a consulting or contractual engagement with Collectors MD beyond these website Terms.

6. Crisis & Emergency Support

Collectors MD is not an emergency response service or crisis intervention provider.

Our website, contact forms, community meetings, and communication channels are not continuously monitored for emergencies.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency services.
